waters is 31,067 km.2.

Climate Croatia has two climatic zones. In the interior prevails temperate continental climate, in some parts even mountain climate, whereas the area along the Adriatic coast has mild Mediterranean climate with a lot of days of sunshine; dry and warm summers, mild winters with a lot of precipitation;
Average temperature in the interior: January 1-3°, August 22-26 °C;
Average temperature in the littoral: January 5-10 °C, August 26-30 °C;
Sea temperature in winter is 12 °C and in summer around 25 °C
Currency Kuna (1 Kuna = 100 lipa). Currencies can be exchanged in banks, exchange offices, post offices, travel agencies, hotels, camps, marinas; cheques in banks.

Passport or some other identification papers accepted under international agreement.
Credit cards Almost in all hotels, marinas, restaurants and shops you can pay with credit cards (AMEX, Diners, EC/MC, Visa).
Medical service Foreign tourists don’t have to pay for medical services if a convention on medical care has been signed between Croatia and the country they come from. Medical costs for persons coming from the countries that do not have such an agreement with Croatia are charged directly to the patient according to the price list. Hospitals and clinics can be found in all bigger towns and in small towns there are doctor’s offices, as well as farmacies. Emergency helicopters transfer patients in mortal danger.

Office hours of shops and public services Most of the shops are open from 08 a.m. – 08 p.m. on working days. On Saturdays and Sundays to 02 p.m.; during season even later. Public services and offices are open from 08 a.m. – 04 p.m., from Monday to Friday.
Postal service and telecommunications Post offices are open on working days from 07 a.m. – 07 p.m.;
in small towns from 07 a.m. – 02 p.m. and some work in split shifts. In
bigger towns and tourist towns, standby post offices are open to 10 p.m.
on Saturdays and Sundays. Making phone calls from public phone booths is
done with telephone cards, which are available in post offices and on news-stands.
